1989.
+ while returning to school to pursue his dream of studying science, im hyunsik meets artist lee jieun who would become the love of his life. while dating, he'd give her red roses every tuesday which really made her fall for him. their romance is strong to this day.
1991.
+ they have their first son while living in gwangju, im hyunwoo. funny enough, in utero he was referred to as 꿀.
1997.
+ the youngest 임 joins the family. jieun wishes with all her heart to have a girl but when her 은 is born a boy, the family names him im jiho.
2001.
+ when hyunsik is offered lucrative work opportunities, the family moves to queens, new york.
+ between learning english and jiho's speech impediment, he starts calling his older brother honey hyung. the nickname just sticks.
2012.
+ after spending roughly ten years in the states, the im family returns to korea to continue teaching gwangju.
+ their eldest son stays behind to pursue his own dream of culinary school, but jiho has no choice but to move with his parents. at the time, he didn't think much of it until on the plane he was sobbing and begging them to turn around.
2013.
+ gwangju academy is a struggle. the studies are easy, the environment is harsh. even without overcoming the bullying, he gets rejected from a science academy because of his looks. without a sense of direction, he drops out of school.
+ looking to try something new, he goes to seoul to start pursuing music and art.
+ he debuts quickly with a group under the company spear ent, etoile. too young to realize they were in such a hurry they didn't bother with training. quickly, things fall apart and he leaves before the real shit hits the fan.
2015.
+ though weary at first, he is scouted for a survival program under solstice entertainment and is given a second chance at debut. not only is it a final shot, but he'd be joining halfway in the program. still, he takes the risk and finds himself rejuvenated, despite the stress and slander to his name.
+ all the overnight shifts and survival pays off when he debuts as the youngest member for 199X with the moniker I.M!
+ in late december, I.M lands in hot water when a popular model alleges dating I.M, which he and his company deny.
2016.
+ after rescuing a cat, jiho is in a car accident and has to take a hiatus from group activities. so early in their debut, the group takes a heavy hit but jiho takes it the hardest. if nothing else, at least it's how he has his kiki.
+ at this time, new information reveals spear entertainment CEOs' involvement with catering to sponsors and clientele with sexual favors, often including their own artists which involved ex member I.M - as well as tax evasion and money laundering criminalizing them.
2017.
+ solstice releases statement to planning to take legal action against defamation including spear ent, aforementioned model, and anyone else who participated in harassment and spreading false information.
+ among the legal process I.M is found guilty and pays a fine for prostitution. 199X fandom splits decisively between loyal fans and enraged antis. however, following investigation, the lawsuits, and fines spear ent officially closes down and declares bankrupcy, cutting ties with all artists and contracts with their staff, I.M remains protected under solstice.
+ the group works tirelessly to secure their first win by the end of the year.
2019.
+ he has long since returned to promote with his group. they still experience shared hardship, exhaustion, pride, and brotherhood all together as it comes.
+ he finally finishes his degree in cultural arts and business through megastudy and kyunghee cyber university, balancing idol life and education while he can.
2021.
+ I.M boldly makes a solo debut, getting mixed reactions. his first mini album is called duality.
2022.
+ the legal battles he goes through his new and old company is long and grueling. his reputation with the general public is lost, and I.M finally speaks up about his strained relationship with the industry. while he never is sure he can go back to how things were, he's not going to back down easily.
+ he takes on again, off again, hiatuses but never lets it impact his work ethic.
2024 to present.
+ not all hope is lost. his members stay together, even the fandom has stronger bonds with the hardships the group has been forged through. one by one his elders complete their service, I.M works as an independent artist for the meantime while awaiting their return.
+ once they're altogether again, he'll take a deep breath and relax for the first time in ten years of being an idol.

+ as their tenth anniversary approaches, the group is reunited and making music again letting I.M return to taking a back seat.
+ some additional facts about his previous group, etoile: they debuted in 2013 with the EP 'star', their fandom name was 'et toi', jiho left in the first year while the group continued as three for two more years before disbanding as the company closed.

+ his mom, an ex singer herself, put jiho through various arts and music programs growing up. including ballet, traditional dance, theater, violin, and piano.
+ though raised christian, his relationship with god is purely personal and he doesn't overtly practice or attend church. he just finds comfort in his beliefs but doesn't follow a guideline for how to be, and rather just believes in being kind because you show up for others without benefit.
+ has a good relationship with both his parents. his dad, who is his role model and his mom who's sensitive but will binge watch cartoons and animations and do explore art with her both sons since they were young.
+ his parents are complementary. opposites in harmony, a scientist and an artist who are still romantic after decades together. now they live together in pohang, own an orchard, and live like honeymooners with their current adopted border collie, luna.
+ before kiki, the previous family pets were a dachshund named jonesy and a chow named apollo after him. neither dogs are with the family anymore but well remembered.
+ music was big in his home. no matter where they lived, jazz, classical, blues, you name it, wafted through speakers hung in the ceilings while they did daily routines.
+ in love with cartoons, comics, and dramas. loves to get lost in shows and movies that often become an inspiration for his lyricism, if not a diary of his own life.
+ he also loves video games. his overwatch mains were reaper or hanzo. on smash bros he plays as ness or lucas. and shy guy in mario kart. on league, jiho plays in jungle lane and mains ekko.
+ an ever loving sweet tooth. his childhood allowances used to go to candy and pops, a habit he still hasn't completely kicked. but has better control over.
+ a light sleeper who needs silence to get through the night, and also a lot of stuffed animals including a grey teddybear he's had since he was a baby named 'nunu'.
+ all his tattoos are carefully thought of and meaningful. it has to be that way because he is never sure when he'll change about something but the ones he settles on change and grow with him.
+ he struggles being confined to one thing. he doesn't like MBTI and often answers that he is 'CUTE' or 'SEXY' but doesn't want to be defined or judged, especially when life around him has so much more to offer.
+ sensitive about dying his hair since his teens he fried his scalp so bad he had to shave his head (plus, black looks best).
+ not only is his scalp sensitive, but so are his eyes, his skin, his nerves. he hates being made to wear colored contact. and he'll absolutely crumble when tickled.
+ he can touch his tongue to his nose and the tip of his elbow, accidental talents he found out such as speed eating jellies. his oral fixation and tendency to bite his fingers is no help.
+ jiho is naturally flexible and often praised for having a wide range, bending his body with incredible ease.
+ an affinity to scents and perfumes (borderline obsessive). he loves to smell good and orders deodorants often. he loves how scents tie him to people and periods of his life.
+ but also somewhat an obsessive cleaner. most of the time he can clean as he goes or put it in the back of his mind. other times, he can be prickly, making people so much as wash their feet before coming to his studio. or cleaning and self grooming when restless.
+ he got into working out in his mid twenties but despite the regular schedule, he has a harder time maintaining his muscles. a naturally thin skeleton and low water retention makes his build awkward but still broad. he just doesn't balloon like his peers.
+ a natural romantic; not just for love. but in his day to day living, he loves his friends and taking his time with things. an introvert who moves slow but thinks deep and the only time he's impulsive is when he's spontaneous.
